Getting started

  • Install BrowseWell from the Chrome Web Store.
  • Open the extension popup and add the sites or pages you want to guard.
  • Mark must-use sites (like email) as Intentional so they ask for your intent before opening.
  • Use Distraction Filters to hide feeds, sidebars, or any element that pulls your attention.

Common questions

Does BrowseWell see my browsing history?
No. BrowseWell only matches the current page URL against the rules you create. Your rules and stats stay in your browser.

What happens when my trial ends?
Everything you already set up keeps working — every block, gate, and filter keeps enforcing, licensed or not. You also get a 48-hour grace period once the trial ends. After that, you can still add plain site blocks for free; creating new Intentional Site gates and new Distraction Filters is what needs a paid license.

Where is my license key, and how do I activate it?
Your key is shown on the confirmation page right after checkout — that page is the only place it appears automatically, so save it. To activate it: click the BrowseWell icon → Manage rules & insights → the Account tab → paste the key under Restore with a license keyRestore. Keys look like BW-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

I lost my license key.
Email us with the address you used at checkout or your Stripe receipt, and we'll send the key back. There is no self-serve recovery yet.

How many devices does one license cover?
Up to 5, on every plan including lifetime. One license is for one person — it isn't meant to be shared. If you need to move your license to a new machine, email us and we'll sort it out.

Does BrowseWell need to be online for my license to work?
Only briefly. Your key is re-checked roughly once a day and cached on your device, so paid features keep working offline. If the check can't reach us, BrowseWell keeps your last known state rather than pausing anything.

What if a payment fails?
Your license stays active through the end of the period you already paid for, so a failed card is never an instant cutoff.

How do I request a refund?
See the Refund Policy page. Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund past ones.

Troubleshooting

  • If a site isn't being guarded, make sure the URL pattern matches (e.g., reddit.com/r/all/* for a path section).
  • If the intent gate doesn't appear, reload the tab after adding an Intentional Site.
  • For persistent issues, try removing and re-adding the extension, or contact us.
